On Saturday May 3rd, 2008 the late great James Brown celebrates his 75th birthday, in style at Q Bar. Known as a true original and pioneer, James Brown’s impact is still felt years after his storied career came to an end. Regarded as the Godfather of Soul around the world, James Brown’s unique take on gospel and r&b led to the birth of funk and soul. With a career which started in the early 50’s, peaking in the late 60’s and early 70’s, Brown undoubtedly left his mark as one of the most prolific and influential singers, songwriters, and band leaders ever.

This coming May 3rd, Q bar celebrates the massive contribution James Brown made to modern music. Be it the endless samples of his original tracks in contemporary hip hop or the driving basslines found in house and techno, one can never overestimate what James Brown has meant to all true music lovers.
