Q Bar turns 9 Years old!

This coming December 17th, 2008, Q Bar Bangkok celebrates 9 amazing years on top of Bangkok’s vibrant nightlife scene. What more is there to say? After 9 thrilling years, we’ve seen the world’s best DJ’s play some killer sets, we’ve thrown some of the most unforgetable parties Bangkok has ever seen, and we’ve set more standards in local nightlife than any other bar or club in town.

How many venues in Bangkok can claim to have stood tall through Bangkok’s turbulent (to put it lightly) and ever changing nightlife landscape? From ridiculously early closing hours, to random police raids and drug tests, to political coups, to that crazy no dancing law, we have remained an institution of good music and good drinks for countless patrons from around the world.

Ahhh…but there is more to say. This past year alone, we here at Q Bar once again reinvented ourselves and set a new standard with our brand new upstairs lounge and smoking balcony. Once again bucking the trends, the brand new lounge features a multicultural palette and a decidedly maximalist décor. Musically, we brought in one of the world’s most respected house DJ’s, as a resident no less, in DJ Kimball Collins. With over 20 years in the business and a resume which includes super clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Renaissance, Womb, and just about every top American club, Kimball has taken Friday nights at Q to new heights. And of course, there are Q Bar’s unforgettable parties. This year saw Q Bar bring Ministry of Sound back to Bangkok for 3 absolutely amazing Hed Kandi parties. On top of that, debut performances from House Diva Barbara Tucker, Deep House legend Doc Martin, and Snoop Dogg’s personal DJ, DJ Jam all rocked the Q Bar dancefloor.

For this year’s very special 9th anniversary, we’re pulling out all the stops to give Bangkok a night to remember. Bangkok’s biggest martini glass filled with a special surprise, exotic dancers, a japanese drum troop, free jello shots, and a really big cake. For all the special people with an invite, you are welcome to our open bar portion of the evening from 8.00pm – 10.30pm. Music will be provided by Q Bar’s very own superstar DJ’s: Tul (Apartment Khunpa), Frederick Funk, Joeki, Kimball Collins, Octo, Tech-12, and Darren Mac.

And for all the naysayers out there, we’re not done yet. As every year passes, we’ve seen the hottest new clubs open…and close. So what more is there left to say??? You’ll just have to wait and see what we have in store for year number 10!
